Each
new year at PTPS brings a series of annual events which engage
students and their families in the vibrant life of the school.
Some
are family events such as the welcoming ice
cream social, the family picnic, the annual Halloween Parade,
"Winter Jam", Family Fun Day, the Art Show, and
the end of year field days. These afford great opportunities
for socialization and networking with Pear Tree Point School
friends.
Others
are curriculum-inspired such as the
fourth grade Medieval Feast, the third grade Roman Olympics,
and the fifth grade trip to Gettysburg. Students research
each of these events thoroughly, creating enthusiastic participation
and a very satisfying culmination of their studies. Children
also perform curriculum-based plays for each other and for
parents as part of our Drama program.

Seasonal
events include festive holiday concerts, special decorating
activities, and the joy of winter sledding.
And
every month the student body joins together in "Celebrate
Success" assemblies to recognize students' efforts, to
talk about Core Virtues, and to share students' accomplishments.
Assemblies are also held to commemorate Veteran's Day, to
enjoy cultural enrichment performances, and at the end of
the year to "Move Up" to the next grade level.
School events are one more way to enrich our very interactive
year.
