Pear
Tree Point School is located in two Fairfield
County communities on western Connecticut's shoreline.
The area is accessed by two major interstate highways, Amtrak
and Metro North railways, and by ferry. Lower Fairfield County
is home to Fortune 500 companies, a highly educated population,
and beautiful residential areas. The region is bounded by Long
Island Sound to the east with many attractions relating to
this proximity: local
beaches and marinas,
a Maritime Museum
and Aquarium, lighthouses, an Oyster
Festival, and ecology
tours aboard a 19th century schooner. Other regional attractions
include interactive museums, a vibrant arts community, live
theater, two zoos, and a minor
league baseball team.
The
Main campus of Pear Tree Point School is in suburban Darien,
Connecticut, a picturesque New England town of less than 20,000
people, with tree-lined streets and upscale shopping. The
campus overlooks an intertidal river which opens onto Long
Island Sound. The early learning campus is in a residential
section of Norwalk,
Connecticut, the state's sixth largest city which is home
to corporations, professionals, the arts, and a nationally
acclaimed Maritime Center.
Both
campuses are less than an hour from New York City.
